Dante Mine.
graphic for visual presentation of text 4697. (Belvidere, Ill.) Will you give me information regarding the merits of the Dante gold mine of Cripple Creek? Do you consider it to be a worthy investment and prospect for great price?
graphic for visual presentation of text
graphic for visual presentation of text Ans.: The Dante Gold Mining Company, 1,250,000 shares, owns 10 acres, patented, on Bull Hill, and is also a shipper. Stock quoted on January 19 at about 17½ cents.
graphic for visual presentation of text It is regarded in Colorado as meritorious stocks, and is being purchased at current prices by local parties personally familiar with the Cripple Creek district. With the expected advance along the whole line of Cripple Creek stocks following any calming down of financial disturbance at the eastern and European money centres, the stocks will advance also, irrespective of any special impetus from the discovery of new rich ore bodies.

Dante Gold Mining Company
Good Prospective Mining Territory Controlled by The Reed Investment Co. of Colorado Springs

THE DANTE GOLD MINING COMPANY.

In the early part of the year 1901 The Reed Investment Company, of which Mr. Verner Z. Reed is president and O. H. Shoup secretary, adopted a policy of working the properties which they controlled by the leasing system.

They were among the first to inaugurate a longer time lease with a lower royalty, so that on all the properties which they control, there has been active development work carried on during the past year by lessees.

The Dante Gold Mining company own the Dante claim on Bull hill, which is surrounded by such well known mines as the Blue Bird, John A. Logan, Orphia May, Lucky Guss and others. During the past year there has been an average of over ten men a day at work upon the property. The production last year, however, was not as large as it was during the years just previous.

The main shaft is 450 feet in depth and the property is fully equipped with shaft house and machinery. The principal lessees of the property have tried to arrange with the owners of adjoining properties to drift from the bottom of one of the deep shafts into the Dante claim, at 1,000 feet in depth. So far the arrangement has not been made.

The British American Mining Co. has this property under lease and is sinking the shaft so as to facilitate the handling of a large production.
