The Pike's Peak Region: Scenic Gems of the Pike's Peak Region

Except for some edgewear, missing paper cover on the side where the pages are fit together, and a little bit of paper tearing at bottom of pages 33 & 34, in addition to top of back cover where there is a fold making it appear like it is missing paper at that area. There are also some slightly smudges, smears, spots, but overall, this book is in good shape. The images, who all are in color, are clearly more old ones as they are not fully realistic always, one can see the artistic licence used to enhance them. One image has a copyright date of 1919 indicating this might be a 1919 published book, and it has a couple of Cripple Creek Short Line scenes so in timeframe it fits the 1919 thinking.

This due to the fact that while the Short Line closed in 1918 it was reopen in July 1919 by a receiver, but by May 1920 it was cut back to just a train between Colorado Springs and Summit, before closed for good in September 1920, indicating that this book is from before that time. Because by using the two images with the Short Line trains in them and the text mention the Short Line without any reservation about closing the line, this gives me that strong feel of the book coming out around July 1919.

Book is having the same content and publisher as my other shared book that I named Scenic Gems of the Pikes Peak Region as that one lacked the front cover, but they are different published books as this edition here used the spelling of "Pike's Peak" while the other book used "Pikes Peak" spelling.

Please enjoy this little trip back to yesterday! Yes, I do hope you enjoy sort of reading this book by browsing these images, as I do find enjoyment in the fact that I am able to share it here for all to see/find. animated smile
