Ryan, Raine and Castleman yesterday made their first shipment from their lease on the Arapahoe, owned by the Jerry Johnson people. It came from a shaft 127 feet deep and where the bottom of the hole is all in ore that it is thought will easily average $50 per ton.

Jerry Johnson Property Lessees Found Good Ore 20 Feet Below
The lessees on the Jerry Johnson property on Ironclad hill, heretofore considered outside of the producing area, have come into a good body of ore which is apparently of a high grade. At a depth of only 20 feet, a narrow vein has been cut which gives returns of $500 in gold to the ton. The vein will undoubtedly widen with depth, and if this proves to be the case, the lessees will have a bonanza.
