Wild Horse Making New Shaft on Bertha
Wild Horse.—A new 3-compartment shaft is being sunk on an adjoining claim, the Bertha, belonging to the same company. The company is controlled by the Woods Investment Company, and only recently acquired the Bertha and T. F. T. claims.

The Wild Horse has produced considerable ore and the company has paid several dividends. The new shaft is to have a stone collar and is to be fitted with steel doors so that in case of fire no damage will be done to the interior. The framework for the shaft house and gallows frame is being put up.

Consolidated Gold Mines Company.—The new hoist on the Gleason shaft, of the Wild Horse Mine, is in use. The shaft will be sunk to the 1,000-ft. as rapidly as possible, when a new level will be run to cut the ore body and connect through the Uintah Tunnel with the Columbine Victor Tunnel.

Carl Evans, superintendent, has opened up a strong body of milling ore at the 500-ft. level of the Gleason shaft and is shipping two cars per week to the Golden Cycle Mining & Reduction Co.'s plant at Colorado Springs.

Gleason Shaft on Wild Horse in Milling Ore at 500 Feet
In the Cripple Creek district Carl Evans, superintendent for the United Gold Mines Co., has opened a new body of milling-grade ore at the 500-ft. level of the Wild Horse mine near Midway, on Bull hill, and has commenced hoisting.

A shipment of the ore will be loaded out shortly, and with the shoot holding up as expected, production will be steady. The development work at the 1250-ft., or bottom, level continues to be satisfactory.

(Special Correspondence. Cripple Creek, January 8.)—The December production from United Gold Mines Company's Wild Horse mine on Bull hill was 2 cars mined and shipped on company account.

The Wild Horse company on December 20 paid a 1 cent dividend amounting to $40,090 from accrued royalties paid into the treasury by lessees during the past year.
