Not the best quality, tend to be that when it comes from a printed source. But, being this is a rare view I am just thankful that I have this view, of an unknown man, possible named Elsmere, standing by a windlass, working on a lease named Elsmere that I think was located on the Flying Cloud claim.
I've tried enhancing the view by using coloring, but I am not happy with the result, but it is the best I can make it for now.Elsmere Lease - Cameron Townsite

        General notes:
Info appearing in a publication by Woods Investment Co., named 'The Cripple Creek Mining District. 1900-1901' say on page 10 in a text taken from a source named 'Gazette' that the company is operating on block 14 of the Cameron townsite.
graphic for visual presentation of text But the 1903ish USGS topomap marks their shaft partly outside that townsite in south, and either way, that part of the Cameron town is also the area the Pinnacle Park is located in, and looking at claim Plat Maps the area of the Elsmere Shaft looks to be on the Flying Cloud Lode claim, but might also be on the Royal Age Lode claim, very hard to figure that part out from the info I have access to as of Nov. 12, 2025.
