In evidence of the fact that Squaw mountain tunnel is revealing in richness, Mr. C. G. Greenwood yesterday showed THE TIMES representative a certificate just from the assayers office which showed a value from an eight inch streak in one of the veins of $2,364 to the ton. In other veins from which ore is being shipped the assays were $51.60, $36.40 and $3.80. The Squaw mountain tunnel has good ore and plenty of it.

Squaw Mountain Tunnel in Over 1,400 Feet
The Squaw Mountain tunnel has the distinction of being one of the biggest and best. It has now pushed its way over 1,400 feet into Squaw mountain, cutting five well defined veins and a number of rich seams of ore.
graphic for visual presentation of text Vein No. 4, 750 feet from the mouth of the tunnel, has been drifted upon and a station is now being cut in the north drift preparatory to sinking a winze.
graphic for visual presentation of text The last shipment of ore was made the first of the month and two or three cars have since been taken out ready for shipment. Total shipments from the tunnel amount to about 240 tons of an aggregate value of over $18,000.

Cripple Creek.—Robert Allen, operating the Squaw mountain tunnel through the west slope of Squaw mountain is reported to have made quite a strike. The vein is over 4 ft. wide and on either side is a small seam that runs from $12 to $22.50 a ton. The lessees are now breaking about 15 tons daily of low-grade material.
