Zoe.—The lessees on this property intend to straighten the shaft for a distance of 300 feet, making it perfectly vertical. Although the expense of this work will be considerable, when completed it will permit of their making a much greater output in ore and effect savings in other directions.

The Zoe shaft on Beacon hill, owned by James F. Burns of Colorado Springs, is temporarily closed down, but it is said that the owner contemplates making some improvements and changes, especially in the way of repairing the shaft. Dump lessees are sorting the rock put out in the early days.
