Gold Sovereign Sinks in Good Ore
Good Ore in the Gold Sovereign.

Three shifts of men are being employed sinking the shaft of the Gold Sovereign mine on Bull hill. The shaft is being sunk from the 800-ft. level to a depth of 900 ft., 30 ft. having already been done.

Some of the best ore of the Sovereign has been obtained on the lower levels and when the shaft reaches a depth of 900 ft. it is proposed to do extensive cross-cutting of the property. An electric hoist installed on the 800-ft. level is being used in the sinking.

The output of the Gold Sovereign is about 30 tons per day, most of which is produced by lessees.

Gold Sovereign Mine to Sink
Cripple Creek, March 31. (Special Correspondence)—It has been decided by the management of the Gold Sovereign mine, on Bull hill, to sink the main shaft to a depth of 1,000 ft. The shaft is now down 900 ft., the last 100 ft. having only been recently sunk. Any discoveries of ore at this depth will not only be of great value to the Gold Sovereign mine, but also to adjacent properties, such as the Cresson and Trilby, into which the orebodies might extend.

Gold Sovereign Find Deep Ore
Denver, Colorado.

Ore in Depth at Cripple Creek.

That Cripple Creek is not slowly sinking into a decline is shown by the recent strike on the 900-ft. level of the Gold Sovereign mine on Bull Hill. Thirty-five feet of good ore has been opened up and further development is under way.

While undoubtedly the rich veins throughout this district, will be fewer at a great depth, there seems no reason to believe that the impoverishment will ever be very marked.
