This badly looking image is the best I have of this mine, the Shaft House of the Chesapeake Mine as it was seen in the background of a photograph of a troop of Soldiers, possible the Denver City Troop, as they posed at Camp Goldfield sometimes around 1903. The Mine is in the center of the view and was located on Battle Mountain below the point where the Golden Circle crosses over the Midland Terminal tracks to work itself up passed the Portland Mine, and just outside the bottom part the tents of Camp Goldfield start showing up.Cropped View; Chesapeake Shaft House
