General notes:
Map is boring, but also shows how broken up a claim can be, and this is a late claim so it is more about telling how one might try grab some luck others might have had, or just being desperate after finding some ground at all.. Claim is in three pieces, the Discovery Shaft is near the eastern border and in the biggest piece of ground, together with a second Shaft just north of it. The other two pieces has no workings showing, and the total claim size is 1.413 Acres so it is still some land left. Still, the fact that this mine under the name of the Bonzai shows on my 1902/03 topographic map as a mine at all, makes me believe that who ever had this mine did buy up some or all of the crossing claims in order to make a mine out of the ground, as I assume the reason it do shows on my map as a numbered mine means it did produce something in the time frame the surveyors was in the area in order to produce the map. I have no info per February 2015 about any mine or claim named the Bonzai.
