Rob Roy Been Sold
E. Biederstadt of Chicago and H. J. Sisty of Colorado Springs have purchased the Rob Roy lode, a patented property at the foot of Gold hill, just across the Midland track, from Allison, Fisher and others, for $25,000, mostly cash.
Twelve feet below surface the locators opened up a contact vein between granite and porphyry, which at the present depth of forty feet has widened to twenty-four inches and assays six ounces in gold and thirty-seven ounces in silver.
The new owners have let a contract to sink a straight shaft fifty feet and while this work is going on three men will be working taking out ore from the old workings.
Mr. Biederstadt is one of Chicago's enterprising men who heard of Cripple Creek and came here with the intention of investing in something good. There is no doubt but what he has it now. Mr. Sisty has been mining in every state and territory where mineral abounds, and he also knows a good thing when he sees it.
