Solitaire Work Started Again
STARTS WORK ON SOLITAIRE.

Allen Siddell, who recently secured a lease on the Solitaire claim and that portion of the Comstock lying to the north of this claim, has started work trenching and has already accomplished considerable.

On September 1 work of sinking the shaft will begin in earnest. The old original location shaft which is down 60 feet will be utilized and will be put down to a depth of 500 feet.

Mr. Siddell was the locator of the Solitaire and owned it up to the time when he sold it to the Solitaire company, reserving the right to take the first lease on the property, should the company wish to lease it. The lease is for a period of two years from September 1 at 20 per cent royalties.

It is said that Mr. Siddell expects to spend at least $5,000 which in addition to the ore which will probably be found will pay for the sinking of the shaft to the anticipated depth.

Solitaire Gold Mining Co. Inquiry
Solitaire Mining Co.

13282. (Monson, Mass.) Will you please see what can be learned about the Solitaire Mining Co., of Cripple Creek? In March, 1900, C. W. Winslow, Pitkin, Colo., was its secretary and treasurer. It is thought that the company was merged into the Bonnie Nell Stock Company; officers of the latter company: J. E. Freeman, president and manager; Orrie S. Moore, vice-president, and C. W. Winslow, secretary and treasurer.

These people fail to reply to any communications sent there, and any information would be most welcome and gratefully received.

Ans. The stock of the Solitaire Mining Company of Cripple Creek is not listed. At least two years ago the company sold a portion of its holdings to the Bonnie Nell Mining Company, taking stock in the latter company in payment therefor and distributing such stock as a dividend, each stockholder of the Solitaire Company receiving 500 shares of the Bonnie Nell Company for each 1,000 shares which he held in the Solitaire Company.

According to the best information which we have been able to get, no work is being done upon the properties of the Solitaire Company. As the stock is not listed, there are no quotations upon it and we do not know and cannot learn what price the stock would bring, if any.

We are making further inquiries, and hope to publish something more in an early issue.
