Mines - List of Producers (1899):
Last updated: 29 October, 2020 12:15

This list are from pages 16, 18 & 24 in the December 31, 1899 edition of the Morning Times newspaper, and this is what that list start off with claiming:

Cripple Creek has almost as many mines as all of the balance of the camps of the country combined.

Big words from this newspaper, but the list seem to go on forever with names so who knows, they might have had right in their statement back then. graphic animated smile

Following is a partial list of the mines which produced shipping ore in the year of 1899, and within the coming year this paper did expect half as many more already known to be added to the list.

In addition, the end of the article published in the newspaper giving this list, mention the following;

Added to the above list there are a large number of leases not mention, which are producing, and which must be looked upon as individual shippers, where ore is being sent out, and there must be taken into consideration that there are a vast number of small mines, the owners of which work then sporadically during the year, and some of them have been overlooked, not intentionally, but through failure to find the owners on the ground after repeated visits to the same.

Where all of these mentioned, the list would be twice as long as the one here presented for the readers attention.:
