This page is made as a way to present pictures and progress info related to the house building. Due to my massive picture posting I've parted this page into months, below you see the links to the pictures from the months passed.

free hit counter javascriptEven with massive back pains I had to do something, so we ended up trying to pour the concrete floor out at the new extension to the shed by having Tore mix cement, and me run it down with a wheelbarrow. As long as I kept moving and was working I was able to do hold out the pain in my back. Actually it felt better then it had for days, quite possible due to me doing something with my body. :-)

But, we never managed to be through before darkness set in, we even parked the gar up on the garage floor to use the headlights as extra lights - bright idea, not so bright in use though...
So, we stopped and agreed to do the rest the day after. Which we did, but then I was in a even worse shape, hardly was able to get up from the bed, walking was painful, I had trouble breathing in between - and to top it off, Tore was in a poor shape too. Which meant we spent many hours doing a quick job, and therefore it had started to rain just as we where finishing of the top.

Had to throw some planks down, throw a cover (have no idea what it is called in English, but is used to cover things outdoor, and is made of some sort of synthetic fabric) over it and hope it would not ruin the concrete to much.
Hence, I never got to get a picture of the job fully done... :-(

Rest of month nothing happen of interest - we just sat around wasting our life...

Still, here are a few pictures under way that date:

First, the result at the tower.

Second, Tore hard at work...

Third, me (not seen) at work...

free hit counter javascriptNot much to report here either, but this day we at least was able to put down the forms needed, and making/pouring the concrete needed to mar out the lowest foundation for our tower/extra entrance to the new house. The one that is also acting as a extra room to separate the garage from the rest of the house.

Pictures:

Sorry for the planks covering the top, but we needed to make a shelter for the concrete.

And I forgot to take pictures before I made the shelter, and it was turning dark and we where afraid of snow.

As seen from the door opening into the garage, at least it will work as a start for the rest of the work.

Had a little concrete left, so we poured it down inside the house.

09 November 2006

free hit counter javascriptNot much to report, Øyvind been here a short trip to add a extension to the pipe going under the entry to our driveway, and he also did some flattening of the dirt piles behind our new house extension. He had done some of it yesterday too, while we where away in Oslo due to Tore having an appointment there with a skin doctor.
Was not happy he had put earth over the gravel we painstakingly had put down behind the house - but today we learned why as Øyvind explained to us that the gravel & rock didn't protect anything against the cold/frost, while the earth would help protect the ground below it, and also therefore the cellar/basement.

Not much, but here is the pictures: :-)

Here you see the pipe down

06 November 2006

free hit counter javascriptNot much to report, I've made a form for pouring a concrete floor up a the shed where we plan to put the old "indoor outdoor toilet" when we one time in the future build the house we been struggling with now for months - while Tore prepared concrete so he and I could fill the forms I already had made weeks ago inside the new house extension for the walls we need to bear in there.

All this happen Saturday the 28th of October 2006, we manage to have just enough concrete sacks to fill the forms inside the house - but I suspect Tore was to cheap with the sand and used "to much" concrete as later we managed to not empty those sacks so fast... Being the first time ever Tore had mixed concrete none of us are really sure how this will come out in the end.
And, it was a good thing we worked that day, because the next day and days after we had a very bad weather, snow, rain, you name it...
