RED SPRUCE WILL SHIP
---------
Initial Shipment Goes Out To-Morrow.
---------
ORE RUNS WELL IN SILVER
---------
VERY HIGH ASSAYS HAVE BEEN SECURED--EXPECTED TO AVERAGE $50 A TON
---------
Another shipper will enter the lists from Gold Hill Monday, though it is yet to be seen whether or not it will remain. A carload will be sent out on that date from the Red Spruce, on the west slope of Gold Hill, just south of the Rob Roy and Ellen Macgregor.
The property is under lease to St. Louis parties, represented in this district by C.L. Hill. They have put a shaft down to a depth of 183 feet, and from that point have drifted on the vein.
The pay streak is about ten inches wide, and like most veins in that locality, is very spotted. Some very high assays have been obtained, but the shipment is expected to return $50 to the ton.
The ore runs quite strong in silver, and contains some lead.

REMARKABLE RED SPRUCE VALUES.
---------
CURIOUS ORE.
------
Initial Shipment From the Red Spruce Shows More Silver Than Gold. The first shipment from the Red Spruce by Lessees Hoskins and Butler returned some remarkable values for Cripple Creek ore.
The stuff was found to run $5 a ton in gold, 48 ounces a ton in silver, and a little lead and copper. The lessees are taking ore from both levels, at 112 and 175 feet depth.
The Red Spruce is located on Gold Hill, near the Pointer.
