      General notes:
Overlaying the Plat Map of this claim unto the 1903 USGS topo-map tells the story that the Discovery Shaft of this claim was buried under the roadbed of the Low Line. There are two more Shafts north and northeast og the Discovery Shaft in addition to a Trench, none of these are shown on the topo-map. Neither are the Tunnel shown on the Plat Map east and barely south of the Discovery Shaft, where it seems to enter into the hillside below the road just above the Low Line before it entered the huge cut in the hill.
graphic for visual presentation of text The Shaft that are marked/drawn on the 1903 USGS topo-map is not at all on the Plat Map, but seeing it is that one that is used on the 1903 it do suggest that it is that one that was their main working shaft. In the Hill's Official Manualette of 1902 it is written that there was a 250 feet deep shaft with 300 feet of drifting, and a shaft house with a complete machinery plant.
