General notes:
This ID 58 City View Shaft is located about halfway between southeast corner and Discovery Shaft of the City View Lode claim. This is from looking at the 1906ish USGS Principal Underground Workings map where this Shaft is marked out, and when I put in the claim lines and the Disc. Shaft. location from the Plat Maps onto the 1903ish USGS topomap in Global Mapper as of today Nov. 25, 2025.11.25.

Sadly though, it is a bit hard to tell which Shaft on the topomap this reference to, as there are two Shafts close together that might be this one, but I am based on other shafts in area, pretty sure about which of those are the ID 58 one. I think the Disc. Shaft is not shown, and that there is a second Shaft shown on the topomap, but I do not know for certain.

As the Plat Maps shows a Shaft House at the Disc. Shaft location, I am a bit uncertain if this survived into the visit from the USGS cartographers and whether it was being mapped on the topomap or not, maybe I will learn more in the future and can update this text.

In June 1900 it was written in Hills Manual that: "Anchoria-Leland Mining and Milling Co. owns City View lode—8003, patented. Surface prospecting only has been done."
