graphic for visual presentation of text A strike of great richness has just been made on the Kalamazoo, located on the summit of Bull hill. The property is owned by P. E. C. Burke, and is operated under a $75,000 bond and lease by W. H. Reynolds of Brooklyn, N. Y.
graphic for visual presentation of text The lessee has worked the claim for a long time, and has put down a shaft 500 feet in depth. The ore chute was encountered in a crosscut run from this shaft, and is supposed to be an extension of the Emma No. 2 vein.
graphic for visual presentation of text The ore gives assays of almost $1,500 to the ton, and while the full extent of the find is not yet known, the lessees complacently admit that it is a big strike. They are now putting up ore bins and preparing to make immediate shipments.
graphic for visual presentation of text The presence of Mr. Reynolds and half a dozen New York friends in camp for the past two days has led to rumors of the bond being taken up at once, but this is denied.
