A new plant of machinery and shafthouse are being put up on the west half of the Gold King, now worked under lease. The hoist is a double-friction Hendrie & Bolthoff lightning hoist, with cylinder 9x10 inches.

Progress-Gold King Strike
Gold Hill, prolific of strikes in the old days, has recently come into notoriety through several finds of importance, the last of which is the discovery of commercial mineral on the property of the Progress company.
graphic for visual presentation of text Ore is being broken at a depth of 40 feet, at which point something like $40,000 of gold bearing rock was extracted some years ago. The ore streak is two and a half feet wide and a shipment has been made. The ore now being taken out is worth from $30 to $40 per ton.

Good Will Tunnel in Use by Several Lessees
Three sets of lessees, operating through the Good Will tunnel on the properties of the Fair Chance and Progress Gold Mining Co., have found ore, and shipments will soon be made.

Strong veins of low-grade ore occur, and the lessees expect to be able to stope this above the adit level and ship it at a profit.
